Life Lately: Updates and a Possible Return to Blogging

Hello People!
Anyone still reading

A lot has happened since my last post in October 2021. Life has truly been a whirlwind, and honestly, I don't even know where to begin. So much has changed—it feels like I am in a constant state of transition.

First, I left my job and moved continents. That alone was a massive leap of faith! Since arriving in the UK, I have been on quite the journey. It started in Wolverhampton, where I was studying for a second master’s degree—a whole new academic challenge. Then, I moved up to Scotland, which was a completely different vibe altogether—beautiful landscapes, colder weather, and an experience I will never forget. Now, I am back in England, settling into work life. It’s been two years since I moved here, and while I am making the most of it, I find myself wondering: How long will I stay? What’s next?

I must admit, I have missed blogging—or maybe I have not? I have been on a total social media hiatus, which has been surprisingly refreshing. My Instagram page barely gets any love these days, and honestly, I do not mind. It is funny how priorities shift as life takes over. For instance, I have only travelled once this year, which is so unlike me! Travel has been such a big part of my life, but since the pandemic hit, it has become harder (and way more expensive) to indulge in. Taking a trip now feels like giving up an arm and a leg! That said, I am excited to be back in the road soon—I will be on leave starting 19 December, and I have got a trip to Barcelona planned. This will be my second time in Spain! The first was back in 2023, when I visited Madrid and Valencia on a sponsored cultural trip. I can’t wait to soak up the vibrant energy of Barcelona and explore more of the Spanish culture.

Life feels like it is moving at lightning speed, though. Can you believe I am only four months (and some days) away from turning 40? It is such a surreal milestone, and I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I feel grateful for all I have achieved and experienced—career changes, cultural shifts, personal growth. On the other hand, I find myself reflecting deeply on what I want out of life moving forward. There’s this ever-present question: Am I where I’m meant to be?

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and share a quick update. To anyone reading this: I hope life is treating you kindly and that you’re taking the time to savour the little moments. Let’s see where the next chapter takes us!

Until next time,
♥Lara
